It looks like we just might have a lead on Sabah’s elusive politician!

Things have not been easy for the East Malaysian state’s former chief minister, Tan Sri Musa Aman, ever since the 14th general elections earlier on 9th May, with him being ousted as chief minister, and pursued by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). In light of all this, Musa Aman decided to disappear from the country!

With the authorities trying to close in on him, some reports have indicated that he was in London, United Kingdom. Now, it looks like he may have been spotted.

A Facebook video was posted by a Malaysian currently in the UK who believes he might have spotted Musa Aman at the St Pancras International railway station.

The video shows a man dressed in a red jacket and blue baseball cap waiting with a trolley full of luggage.

According to the Malay Mail, Malaysian police are already aware of the video and are currently investigating the matter.

The former Sabah chief minister was believed to have fled the country, following an eventful election, and was last seen on a Malindo flight to Kuala Lumpur on 14th May.

If you’ve not been following what went down in Sabah shortly after the election, allow us to fill you in!

After winning by an extremely narrow margin on polling day, Musa Aman was sworn in as chief minister the following day on 10th May after one of the opposition parties decided to join with BN, which caused outrage among Malaysians.

However, he soon lost the majority support after a number of BN assemblymen moved over to the state’s alliance led by Parti Warisan Sabah, and was asked to step down. Despite refusing to do so, he ultimately lost his position as chief minister just two days after being sworn in (12th May), when Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal was sworn in as Sabah’s new chief minister.

Soon after that, the MACC intended to raid Musa Aman’s home on 23rd May, but could not conduct a search because he was nowhere to be found. Now, the authorities are on the lookout for the former chief minister.

Let’s hope our Malaysian authorities find Musa Aman soon so that investigations can be carried out appropriately!
