It appears that people really do have to be very careful when purchasing food items from vendors these days, as more and more customers are finding things in their food that shouldn’t be there.

For instance, one Malaysian found a whole dead frog inside of the lemang they had bought at a vendor in Perak.

The Malaysian shared the incident to the ResEpi sI bUjaNg Facebook page.

They wrote, “Allahuakbar, MashaAllah. I often hear stories of people eating ‘frog’ lemang but in the end, I was the one who got it. I had eaten the lemang almost to the end when I found the frog. Be careful when you purchase lemang. I bought 2 pieces of lemang on my way back to KL.”

Lemang is a traditional Southeast Asian food that consists of sticky rice cooked inside bamboo sticks. In Malaysia, it is often eaten with Rendang.

Perhaps it’s a one time thing?

They went on to share that they would buy the lemang from the vendor on a yearly basis and never had any previous issues. So, they do believe that the presence of the frog inside the lemang may just be an honest mistake by the vendor.

“Every year I would buy (lemang) from there but never had any problems, it’s always tasty but this year, I am not so lucky. I apologise to the vendor for posting this, I just want to let you know to be more careful when making the lemang after this,” they added.
