She asserted,

“Not only is it a cultural experience but you can also find lots of stuff to bring back as souvenirs.”

Marissa, who mainly makes videos about her life in China with her Chinese husband, added that while at a grocery store, they’ll spend some time looking at the interesting foods that the store has in its meat and seafood departments.

Marissa and her family visited Malaysia during Ramadan

As for her ‘sightseeing’ trip to the Malaysian supermarket, Marissa said that they came to our country during Ramadan, hence there were a lot of traditional snacks on sale at the supermarket for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

After looking around, they then picked out items that they wanted to bring back home, which included Milo, Briyani spice mixes curry packs and other types of sauces and spices that Malaysians use in their cooking.

Showing off a trolley full of groceries with her husband and in-laws, Marissa then asserted,

“I guess if enjoying going to the grocery stores is wrong, then I don’t want to be right. And doing it with people who equally get excited about it makes it even more fun.”
