This is truly appalling!

A religious teacher was apprehended for allegedly molesting his male student at Putatan, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, reported The Star.

Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim disclosed that not long after the incident, a police report was later lodged at about 1.48 am on Tuesday (6th August) and the suspect, who is in his 20s, was arrested.

“The Form Four student claimed that he was sleeping when he suddenly felt someone groping his private parts, subsequently waking him up,” he said. Scared, the boy then fled after being sexually assaulted.

According to Mohd Haris, the victim claimed that the incident happened on Sunday at about 1.30 am.

“The student did not immediately lodge a police report as he felt ashamed and scared.”
“He needed time to think before making a decision,” stated Mohd Haris.
The suspect, who is now under remand, is being investigated under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Hopefully, the suspect will be punished accordingly if found guilty and the victim will be able to overcome this ordeal.
