MYDIN earns Malaysia Book of Records recognition for ‘Largest Rotating Kolam’

MYDIN has made history after earning recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for creating the ‘Largest Rotating Kolam’ ahead of this year’s Deepavali celebrations.

Measuring 20 feet by 20 feet, the kolam features a distinctive wheel-shaped structure adorned with vibrant colours, intricate geometric patterns and traditional Indian artistic elements.

In a statement shared with WORLD OF BUZZ, MYDIN said the achievement follows its introduction of the country’s first rotating kolam, which gives the traditional art form a fresh twist through creativity and innovation.

The company added that the initiative is part of its efforts to preserve and promote traditional art while encouraging Malaysians to better appreciate the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

“The MBOR recognition further underscores MYDIN’s continued commitment to celebrating cultural diversity, strengthening community connections and making festive celebrations more meaningful for all Malaysians.

“It also highlights how creativity and innovation can bring traditional practices to life in ways that resonate with people across generations.”
