Pisang Goreng Trader Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Fellow Trader With a Knife in Cheras
A local banana fritter (Pisang goreng) seller was arrested by authorities following a daylight altercation in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Cheras.
According to Harian Metro, the dispute erupted along the roadside in front of a residential building on Jalan Tasik Selatan 21 at around 3:00 PM. The victim was allegedly slapped and threatened with a knife during the heated argument, which reportedly stemmed from business turf tensions and licensing issues.

Suspect arrested at his banana stall
Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud confirmed that a 38-year-old male suspect was tracked down and arrested late in the evening by a task force from the Sungai Besi Police Station.
“The suspect was arrested late this evening at a fried banana stall where he operates by a task force from the Sungai Besi Police Station. Police also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident,” ACP Mohd Rosdi said in a statement.
Preliminary checks revealed that the suspect does not have any prior criminal records. Police are currently wrapping up their investigations by taking statements from the victim and eyewitnesses, as well as reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage captured around the location.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code.

Viral social media claims and background tensions
Prior to the official police confirmation, a post circulated widely on Threads after a user claimed they narrowly escaped a knife attack during a dispute involving a crispy tofu stall and localised business space disagreements.
While authorities have confirmed that the altercation was triggered by business territory disputes in the area, police continue to urge the public to refrain from speculating on unverified details circulating online while investigations remain active.
