Motorists, take note! You need to settle your DBKL summonses ASAP if you want to avoid being blacklisted.

The Star just reported that people with outstanding Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) summonses have one month to pay their fines, which were issued before 1 September 2018 by 30 September 2018. If these motorists refuse to do so, they can risk being blacklisted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

However, to ease the burden of traffic offenders, DBKL is offering a flat rate according to the types of vehicles. The rates are as follows:

  • RM20 – motorcycle offences
  • RM30 – car, MPV, van, lorry, 4WD & SUV
  • RM50 – heavy vehicles (like buses, tractors, large lorry cranes & trailers)

Nevertheless, according to DBKL Corporate Planning Department director Khairul Azmir Ahmad, the discounts are only applicable to parking offences at metered parking spots and DBKL summonses. Only DBKL summonses, guys!

In a statement, he said,

“Motorists are given a month, between 1 and 30 September 2018, to settle their outstanding traffic offences, and there will be no extension given, following of which, they will be blacklisted by the JPJ.”

He also explained that motorists who are already blacklisted or have an arrest warrant against them will not get to enjoy the discount mentioned above. Not forgetting, motorists with an ongoing traffic offence case in court are also not eligible for this discount.

With that said, to avoid being blacklisted by JPJ, all motorists can settle their summonses through the DBKL payment counter, Pos Malaysia branches all over the nation and the DBKL Mobis app, which is available in Google Play store and Apple App Store. Other than that, they can also settle their fines on MyEg’s website.

Hurry up and settle your DBKL fines by 30 September 2018!
