A Malaysian chilling out at a local Mamak restaurant found an amusing sight recently after a cook who was working at the eatery looked rather familiar.

After hilariously figuring out who the individual looked like, the man, @nurredzuan_ uploaded a video of the cook on TikTok, which has since gone viral with over 2.6 million views and more than 325,000 likes.

This is because the cook at the undisclosed Mamak restaurant looks exactly like Ejen Bakar, a character from the world-famous Malaysian animation series ‘Ejen Ali’!

At the start of the 16-second video, @nurredzuan_ showed a photo of Ejen Bakar on a smartphone before slowly panning the camera to the cook, who was preparing tandoori chicken at the eatery.

Not only did the cook look similar to Ejen Bakar, but he was also wearing a similar outfit to the character in the animated series, including a blue shirt and red cap.

Ejen Ali Netflix adaptation?

In the comments, many Malaysians, especially fans of the Ejen Ali animated series were amused by the man’s finding and marvelled at how the individual looked exactly like Ejen Bakar.

Several commenters joked that the cook may actually be Ejen Bakar in real life as in the animated series, the agents’ training centre was located underneath a Mamak restaurant, hence their headquarters may be nearby.

Meanwhile, another commenter joked that this is the Netflix live-action adaptation of Ejen Ali, referring to how the streaming service always makes live-action versions of anime and cartoon series.

So, what do you guys think of the video? Do you see the resemblance between Ejen Bakar and the cook? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
