A 13-year-old boy had the shocking experience of his life when he couldn’t find his parents after using the washroom at a gas station in Raub, Pahang.
This is after his parents had forgotten about him and drove away without realising that the boy was not in the back seat. Amidst the crowds at the gas station during the long weekend, the boy tried looking for his parents outside the washroom and around the gas station but to no avail.
In an official statement by Raub District Police, the incident took place on Saturday (September 14) when the boy descended his parents’ vehicle to use the toilet facilities.
Thankfully, the 13-year-old was found safe and sound by the police, who then brought him to Raub Police Station, where the chief police station managed to contact the boy’s family. On the same night around 7:30 PM, the boy’s parents came to the police station to bring the frightened boy back.
PDRM also reminded the public to be careful and alert of their surroundings, including their children.
As rare as it may sound, this is not the first case of parents accidentally leaving their children behind. Back in 2019, Malaysian parents realised that their then 3-year-old son was left at Malacca R&R when the former already reached home. Earlier this year, foreign workers at R&R had to care for a kid until his forgetful parents came back for him.
Do check your backseats before leaving the destination.
