It’s frightening to see how many people have gone missing recently, and a 10-year-old kid who was reported missing on Friday (August 16) was unfortunately found dead in a swamp 24 hours following her disappearance.

Orang Asli child, Nuraina Humaira Rosli, who is also a Year 4 student at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pos Kuala Mu, was found lying at 4:20 pm yesterday (August 17) after being reported missing while playing in the area around the village.

The missing person report was received from the Chairman of the Orang Asli Village Progress and Safety Committee (JPKKOA) at around 1:20 am on Saturday after Nuraina had not returned home since Friday evening.

The Chief Police of the Sungai Siput district in Perak, Superintendent Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudi, said the victim was found lying in a swampy area near the village about 50 to 100 meters from the last house of the village.

Were there any criminal elements involved?

In a report by Berita Harian, PDRM said so far, the case has been classified as sudden death.

“We are still waiting for the post-mortem results. There is no suggestion of wild animal attack based on observation,” Khaizam said.

Based on the information received, the victim was said to have gone to the shop alone at around 3 pm on the day of the disappearance to buy chicken before returning home.

“The victim was said to have gone home empty-handed because the shop had ran out of chickens, before the victim’s parents went to another shop to buy chicken while the victim was left playing at a playground near the area.”

Nuraina was last seen at the playground.
