Zus Coffee recently made headlines again when a customer was served a mouldy sausage roll. The mould was only noticed halfway through the meal.

Just yesterday (February 3), Zus Coffee has since broken the silence and responded via an official statement, where they revealed what actually happened. Following a thorough investigation, Zus found out that the chiller at the outlet had malfunctioned which affected the temperature maintenance that led to the contamination of the pastry.

The incident happened at one of the outlets at a mall in KL.

In the meantime, Zus Coffee also revealed that they have reached out to the affected customer for an apology and compensation, however, as of yesterday, the latter has yet to respond.

“We will be offering a full refund on their food order, as well as the recommendation of a medical panel and compensation for any medical treatment needed to ensure our customer’s health and safety,” Zus explained.

In its statement, Zus Coffee also apologised to its fellow customers and the Zus community for the disappointment and expressed its gratitude for the continued support from the customers.

“We promise to keep striving to do better.”

Zus Coffee also encouraged its customers to reach out to them via their official website if they have any complaints, so that Zus can respond immediately. You can read the full statement below.

We would also like to thank Zus Coffee for its response and apology. Hopefully, history will not repeat itself anymore. Fellow lovers of Zus Coffee, what do you think of this?
