The Internet is a weird place. We know, because we make it our life’s work to explore the depths of the Internet to discover some of the world’s most unusual stories for your pleasure. And we love our jobs (most of the time). So you can imagine how this recent story published by the New York Post caught out attention when we saw it.
While marriage is defined as being a union between two consenting adults, apparently now marriage also encompasses a union between man and doll. And before you ask, no, this incident didn’t take place in Japan.
According to the report, Kazakhstan-based actor and bodybuilder Yuri Tolochko is now going to tie the knot with his bride-to-be after a whopping eight months of dating together! Congratulations!
The only thing is, his bride isn’t of flesh and bone; she’s a synthetic, full-sized, highly detailed sex doll called Margo.
The hunky actor has been seen treating Margo to lavish trips and dinners, as well as documenting their romantic dates and evening escapes out around town together. And honestly, if you squint your eyes enough, they really do look like a pretty great couple together!
There’s even a backstory to how they met: Yuri said that he met Margo when she was still working as a waitress at a bar. Yes– a doll working as a waitress at a bar, with no functioning limbs.
“Margo doesn’t know how to cook,” says Tolochko, but she does know how to eat and she enjoys Georgian cuisine a lot.
And before they decided to tie the knot, Yuri said that Margo had apparently developed a ‘complex’ after appearing on a local television show and wanted to have plastic surgery. So, yeah, Margo went under the knife and now apparently looks like ‘a completely different person’.
Whether a date has been set for the wedding is unknown at this point. But she does have an Instagram, so follow her if you’re interested in keeping track!
Well, odd as the relationship is, we do wish the happy couple all the best. Yuri seems pretty pleased with the arrangement and so does Margo!
