Playing sports during the evening may be one of the most popular activities that working Malaysians do, given the fact that usually its the only time we have to relax and unwind. If not evening, then when else on a weekday right? However, given the amount of deaths that seem to be cropping up when people play sports during the evening period, it does make you wonder if there’s any correlation between evening exercise and a higher death rate.

In an unfortunate incident, a man in his 40s from Terengganu passed away after playing badminton in the evening with his friends, according to a report from Sin Chew Daily.

Sinchew1

An employee at a chemical factory in the state, the deceased played three consecutive rounds of badminton with his friends before taking a seat to rest by the sidelines. However, as his friends came over to join him to have a brief chat, the deceased suddenly stood up and fainted.

Despite people at the scene trying to perform first-aid and CPR on him for over 20 minutes, the man did not respond. He was declared dead after emergency services rushed him to hospital.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased, and we hope that he will be able to rest in peace.
