A heart-wrenching yet incredibly inspiring story has been circulating online, proving that pure grit, determination, and familial love can overcome any obstacle. The story was brought to wider attention when the woman’s brother, @prasanvj99, shared a video of her journey online, capturing a deeply personal moment that has since touched countless viewers.
V.T. Sanggeetha a/p Vijaiyan, a bright student hailing from Baling, Kedah, recently captured the hearts of many after securing an offer to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (Dr.) degree at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

She would wake up as early as 3 AM to study
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, prasanvj99 explained that Sanggeetha’s path to success was far from easy. Her father is a stroke patient, while her mother works as a staff member at a local Billion supermarket to support the family.
Growing up in Baling, she lacked direct access to tuition centres or well-equipped bookstores. However, she never let her environment limit her potential.
From her early education at SJKT Keruh to her secondary school days at SMK Baling, Sanggeetha pushed herself relentlessly. To stay ahead, she routinely woke up as early as 3:00 AM or 4:00 AM to study and made the conscious sacrifice of completely staying off social media to keep her eyes on the prize.
Remarkably, without attending any tuition classes, she scored 9As in her SPM examinations.
Academic excellence and family pride

Sanggeetha went on to attend matriculation, where she maintained a perfect 4.00 CGPA for both semesters. Along her academic journey, she was also honoured with the prestigious Tokoh Murid award and crowned Kedah’s Best Debater in 2024.
Her achievements reached a new emotional peak when she received her acceptance offer to study medicine at UKM, surrounded by her proud family.
Reflecting on her journey, Sanggeetha expressed deep gratitude for her blessings and the unwavering support of her parents:
“With the blessings of God and the unwavering support of my parents, I am proud to have reached where I am today.”
Her story is a powerful reminder that hard work and sacrifice pay off, no matter where you start in life.
Netizens’ reactions:

Huge congratulations to Sanggeetha on her well-deserved admission to UKM, and we wish her all the best in her medical journey!
