Unidentified Body Found Inside Aircraft Wheel Compartment At KLIA2, Victim Believed To Be In Their 20s

An unidentified body was found inside the aircraft wheel compartment at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) today (27 August).

The body was discovered at around 6:55 AM, shortly after the aircraft arrived from Tokyo, Japan and landed at around 6:30 AM.

Victim believed to have been dead for over 72 hours

According to Berita Harian, the body was discovered by engineering staff who were assigned to open the aircraft’s landing gear compartment.

The staff member reportedly noticed a suspicious foul smell coming from the compartment before opening it and finding the body inside. They then alerted the KLIA2 Police Station Operations Room.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Forensics Unit was subsequently called to the scene to carry out further investigations.

Initial investigations found that the victim was believed to be in their 20s and had likely been dead for more than 72 hours. The body was dressed in jeans and a white shirt, but no identification documents were found.

Further investigations are underway to identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
