Lee Zii Jia’s recent performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics has been nothing short of remarkable. His achievements have made Malaysia proud, as he secured the country’s 2nd bronze medal.
Just a month ago, the 26-year-old moved from 7th to 6th place after a recent victory in the Olympic badminton match. His continued success has now placed him from 6th all the way up to 3rd place!

According to the BWF World Championship rankings, Zii Jia is currently 3rd in the world, with Shuttle Hard reporting his impressive score of 83,716 points as of September 10th.
Chinese player Shi Yu Qi holds the top spot with 101,815 points, while Danish player Viktor Axelsen remains in 2nd place with a score of 88,910.
Other athletes on the world ranking list include China’s Li Shi Feng (4th), Denmark’s Anders Antonsen (5th), Japan’s Kodai Naraoka (6th), Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie (7th) and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (10th), Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn (8th) and Taiwan’s Chou Tien Chen (9th).

Malaysia’s men’s singles shuttler, Zii Jia, won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics after a tight match against India’s Lakshya Sen. He bounced back from a first-round loss (13-21) to clinch victory in rounds 2 and 3 with scores of 21-16 and 21-11, respectively, on August 5.
After the match, Malaysian badminton legend Dato Lee Chong Wei congratulated Zii Jia, saying he truly deserved the win and acknowledging the tough journey he’s been on since leaving BAM 3 years ago.
While the world celebrated his victory, Zii Jia revealed he was dealing with a lot of suppressed emotions, which he shared during an emotional interview after his win.
