PDRM Hunting Down Pakistani Man Detained for Child Sexual Assault Who Escaped Sungai Buloh Prison

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has launched a manhunt for a detainee who reportedly escaped from Sungai Buloh Prison yesterday (9 April).

According to a statement shared on the Sungai Buloh District Police, search operations in the surrounding areas have commenced for the detainee, a 24-year-old Pakistani national named Muhammad Hassan.

“The police have activated efforts to track the prisoner within the vicinity and are diversifying other search methods. The detainee was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt and black trousers,” the statement read.

 

Public safety warning: sexual offences

Given the man’s prior criminal record, the police are advising the public to remain vigilant while he remains at large. Authorities have highlighted the sensitive nature of his alleged crimes to underscore the importance of caution.

“The police advise the public to exercise increased care, in view of the fact that this detainee has allegedly committed sexual offences against children,” the statement continued.

Appeal for information

The authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the man’s whereabouts to come forward immediately.

“If the public has information that can shed light on the location of the prisoner, please contact the investigating officers, Insp Muhendran A/L Chandra at 011-4304383 or Insp Azamuddin at 016-5661597. Alternatively, contact the Sungai Buloh District Police Headquarters at 03-61561222, or visit any nearby police station.”

The public is also cautioned against spreading unverified information or engaging in speculation that could hinder police operations or cause unnecessary public alarm.
