The scary thing about domestic violence is that you never know when it could happen, or who it may happen to. Despite numerous organisations taking the initiative to lessen domestic abuse, you still hear these cases happening all the time.

According to Harian Metro, a woman in Butterworth, Penang was sent to the hospital when her husband hit her on the head with a clothes iron. The reason for the assault was because the lady took too long to serve him a drink, resulting in her husband’s outrage. The incident was reported to have happened around 3pm on New Year’s Eve.

The couple had been married for five years and is currently living in Taman Kerapu with their two children. Her 43-year-old husband works as a blacksmith while she is a 26-year-old housewife. According to reports, they constantly argued over their daily struggles and this was not the first time that he had abused her. She had been busy doing housework and was not free to get him a drink so when he waited for some time, he suddenly got up and took the iron to hit her head.

The police chief Assistant Commissioner of Seberang Prai Utara district, Noorzainy Mohd Noor and his team of police arrested her husband the following day (Jan 1) and confiscated the assault weapon. Noorzainy also mentioned in his report that the suspect tested positive for the ‘MOP’ drug test and that the suspect had six records of criminal history.
