Words of affirmation and support keep coming in for our beloved Badminton player, Lee Zii Jia who brought home the Bronze medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Malaysian badminton legend, Dato Lee Chong Wei was quick to congratulate Lee Zii Jia following the latter’s victory in the badminton match that took place last night (August 5). In his brief but assuring Instagram story, Chong Wei assured everyone that Lee Zii Jia deserved the win, and said the journey had not been easy for the young badminton player who departed from BAM 3 years back.

“Well-deserved Olympic medal. Your journey is not easy and everyone is proud of you!” Chong Wei told Zii Jia.

Earlier, Zii Jia won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games after defeating the Indian player, Lakshya Sen in the bronze medal decider with a score of 13-21, 21-16, and 21-11.

The victory of Zii Jia, ranked 7th in the world, contributed to Malaysia’s 2nd bronze medal in the world’s leading sport, which is no easy feat!

For the record, Chong Wei is the country’s most successful badminton athlete at the Olympic Games when he brought home silver medals from the Olympic Games starting in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.
