The officer later reprimanded the man, reminding him that the girl he was taking out that late at night was underage.

“Did you know that you can’t take an underage girl out? You know I can detain her and call her parents to pick her up from the police station, especially since she’s underage. If the parents come, will you be able to answer them when they ask?” the officer said.

As the officer continued, he further reminded the man of his actions, pointing out the potential legal consequences he could face under the Child Act 2001.

“You’re 20 years old, basically taking a child out. Do you not feel ashamed about that?” the officer added.

Netizens started flooding the comment section with their thoughts and reactions.

“Officers like this are really great.”

“He’s scolding them in such a fatherly way.”

“At just 14, already out late celebrating New Year’s, while the 28-year-old sleeps soundly, knowing they have to work the next day.”

“We need more police officers like this in Malaysia. It’s the only way to curb all the rampant immoral activities.”

“‘Where are your parents?’ Big salute to this abang polis. You did an awesome job.”

“Whatever it is, I still fully support this police officer because he’s a professional who always strives to guide the community towards doing good. Excellent work, sir, salute.”
