This must be so traumatising for the young student!

Ever since this 7-year-old boy started school in September, he has reportedly been bullied by his classmates, according to SCMP. However, things got even worse earlier this month on 10th November when two of his bullies hit him and forced an eraser into his ear!

The young boy, who lives in Hong Kong, went back home later that day and could not stop crying because he did not want to go back to school, according to his mother. The following day, the boy apparently told his mother, “Mum, I’ll wait for you in heaven.”

Five days later, the boy’s mother took him to a clinic, where he was referred to a psychologist. The next day, he reportedly started feeling pain in his leg, which prompted his mother to bring him to the emergency room. It was only then he told her that someone had stuffed an object in his ear.

Shortly after that, doctors discovered he had a pencil eraser tip stuck in his right ear canal that needed surgery to be removed.

The boy has since been discharged from hospital following his surgery, but has reportedly suffered hearing impairment.

Since the traumatic incident, the boy’s mother lodged a police report regarding the issue.

“The woman made a request for the police to keep a record of the case and said she would keep in close contact with the school and social workers,” a police spokesperson told SCMP.

Meanwhile, the boy’s mother became emotional when she shared that she brought the issue up to the school, saying,

“I have spoken to his class teacher, but only to be told twice that there were no bullying incidents at school.”

She continued saying that before he was bullied, her son was so excited to start primary school that he drew a picture of his school and put it up on his wall.

“Now I don’t know when he will recover from the emotional trauma.”

In recent developments, the school reportedly investigated what happened on that fateful day. However, the headmistress claimed that there was no evidence of the incident taking place during a meeting with more than 50 parents at the school.

According to Coconuts, the headmistress claimed that none of the students saw the boy being bullied. She also claimed CCTV footage from that day showed the young boy looking happy.

The school did not offer any alternative explanation for how the eraser got lodged in the boy’s ear canal.

Understandably, the boy’s parents were not happy with the school’s investigations and were suspicious of their methods.

According to the headmistress, the investigation involved 8 teachers. Meanwhile, 24 students from the boy’s class responded to a questionnaire. The responses were then evaluated by an educational psychologist, and the findings will be sent to the Education Bureau.

Other parents also raised concerns over the school’s methods in handling the situation. One parent, whose child is friends with the young boy, said that her daughter told her their teacher was trying to convince the class that the bullying case wasn’t true, saying,

“The teacher told the class ‘think about it, if someone has something stuck in their ear for a long time, you think they can endure that? That it won’t hurt? That they would not immediately report it?'”

Meanwhile, the police have stated that they will not be involved in the case since the children involved are all under 10 years old, which is the age of criminal responsibility in Hong Kong.

Due to this traumatic incident, the young boy’s parents have decided to transfer their son to a different school.

We hope this sensitive case will be resolved fairly and that the young boy is able to recover from his traumatic experience in peace.
