According to a statement SMRT posted on their official Facebook page, they explained that a train heading towards the Tuas Link Station was stalled at the Joo Koon Station at 8.18am. One minute later, another train arrived and stopped behind the first train.

Then, the second train unexpectedly moved forward and collided with the first train just a minute after that!

One netizen who was on the train at the time of the collision, said all passengers fell on their backs from the force of the crash. Omg!
