MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms Expected In Several Areas Nationwide From Today Until GE15 Polling Day

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning that thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecasted in several areas throughout the country from today (13 November 2022) up until the 15th General Election’s (GE15) polling day on 19 November 2022. According to the department’s weather model analysis, the extreme weather is expected to affect rural areas, western Peninsular, western Sabah and Sarawak.

As reported by Astro Awani, the extreme weather is forecasted to hit in the evening up until nighttime throughout the aforementioned period. Moreover, based on MetMalaysia’s latest forecast, thunderstorms and strong wind warning have been issued for these places:

  • Kedah (Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu)
  • Penang
  • Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim)
  • Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Pekan and Rompin)
  • Negeri Sembilan (Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin)
  • Melaka
  • Johor
  • Sarawak (Miri and Limbang)
  • Sabah (Sipitang and Kuala Penyu)
  • Labuan
