Most of the time, littering happens when people have something that they want to immediately throw away but can’t find a dustbin in public. But what happens when you have trash that you don’t necessarily need to throw away at that very moment?

Malaysians are being condemned online after getting caught on camera cleaning out their cars while they’re out and about. The 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians Facebook page shared 2 videos in the span of this month alone, where people were spotted throwing rubbish from their cars onto the road.

The 1st video happened early this month, where a woman can be seen cleaning out a Perodua Myvi while double-parked somewhere in Ampang, KL.

The 2nd video took place in Saujana Putra, where a man could be seen throwing out trash from a Perodua Bezza while at a junction.

At one point, the man even threw the rubbish deeper underneath the car so that it wouldn’t be seen.

Netizens have since condemned their actions

“Idiots. Don’t have dustbins at home?”

Others also pointed out that such actions can cause clogs in drainage systems, which would obviously lead to flooding.

“Throw rubbish on the road then when it floods, you blame the government. What a headache.”

Cleaning out rubbish from your car is completely unnecessary to do in public as you can always wait until you get home and dispose of the rubbish properly there.

Keeping our streets clean starts from not littering.
