Having our mothers cook breakfast (or lunchboxes) for us every day is a blessing. It’s not only cost-saving but also a luxury that not everyone is fortunate enough to experience.

A Malaysian university student, however, is not happy with how she commutes to her class every day. While she is fortunate enough to have someone driving her every day, the student is NOT willing to let others know who is behind the wheel – her mother.

“My mum is still driving me to the university everyday.”

In an anonymous post by UTAR Confessions 2024/2025 on its FB page, the student said she didn’t want others to know that her mother has been sending and fetching her every day, so she had an idea to “blind” everyone’s eyes.

“I didn’t want others to laugh at me, so I stick an e-hailing sticker on the windscreen without my mum noticing.”

To convince the others, she even put up an act and said,

“The e-hailing driver has a pretty good service! I’m giving her a 5-star ratings!”

She does this so others wouldn’t know that as a university student, her mum still sends her to her destination daily, ensuring her safety.

Social media users were baffled to see the student happily admitting that she didn’t enjoy her mother’s presence, and many thought that she should’ve been grateful.

“It’s embarrassing for your mum to have an ungrateful kid like you.”

“Why would your mum need you when you’re being ungrateful?”, said a user.

Another user said, “I would’ve told everyone that she was my mother, it would make me proud. One day when she’s gone, you’ll know what it takes to be a mother. Not every mother sends their kids to school. You’re lucky, but you don’t know it. Your mum doesn’t even stick something on the windscreen that says “not my kid”

“You’re crazy. Your mum could’ve given birth to a Char Siew, not you.”

Why would we be embarrassed to have your mum by your side? If it’s up to you, would you still want your parents to show their love to you through acts of service?
