Naming our child is the 1st thing we think of once the gender has been identified. The excitement and thrill of having a new-born child is an experience that most parents highly anticipate.

The National Registration Department (JPN) has confirmed that the longest name registered is still Princess Aura Nurr Ermily Amara Auliya Bidadari Nawal El Zendra Mohd Suffian with 12 words.

Only less than 80 letters allowed

According to JPN’s records, another person with the longest registered name is Nur Fathaniah Tariyah Karimah Farwizah Zahabiyah Syahirah Airol Anizam which was registered in 2014.

Whereas, the shortest name registered in Malaysia is owned by a woman born in Johor named:

S binti Rusli

For everyone’s information, JPN only allows babies’ names registered to be under 80 letters.

Remember the witty dad who edited his baby’s birth cert for fun?

If you remember back in 2022, a picture of a birth certificate went viral on social media. What caught the attention of netizens was the length of the name registered on the birth certificate.

Long Name E1641528960731

Facebook user, Mohd Solihin posted the picture of his daughter’s birth certificate where her registered name was apparently, Nur Shafia Aaliya Zulaika Amira Naura Aurora Yeeha Cinta Binti Mohd Solihin.

There is a total of 12 words in the name, which we can all agree is long and indeed unique.

The mystery is debunked!

Solihin then posted a follow up story and explained that his new-born’s birth certificate was actually edited. The witty dad did it just for fun and didn’t expect it to circulate all over social media.

He revealed that his daughter’s name is actually just Nur Shafia Aaliya. Her name is as cute as she is!
