The road along Jalan Maarof was severely damaged following a heavy rainstorm that took place in Bangsar.

Reporting from the scene, Lembah Pantai Assemblyman Fahmi Fadzil took to Facebook to share the updates.

“This is quite bad. What’s most worrying is that there is a sinkhole and you can hear water running under it.”

Fahmi added that he was notified of the incident after Tarawikh prayers.

“I noticed patrol cars in the area that stopped vehicles in front of the Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Mosque in Bangsar.”

He found out that the roads have been closed and that DBKL was on scene to investigate the problem.

He adds that roadworks are currently underway.

We would like to advise members of the public to avoid Jalan Maarof for the time being to allow proper maintenance to take place.
