We are in the midst of political turmoil happening in the country despite the ever-rising Covid-19 cases and floods. Syed Saddiq’s Parti MUDA and Tun Dr Mahathir’s Parti PEJUANG applications to be recognized as political parties have reportedly been rejected by the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS).

Astro Awani reported that PEJUANG’s rejection was confirmed by the party lawyer, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali who said they received the letter at around 5.45pm yesterday (6 January).

Pejuang founders datuk seri mukhriz mahathir and datuk marzuki yahaya after submitting the party registration application to ros, 19 august, 2020. Former pejuang founder, dr maszlee malik was also present.

The decision was made when a judicial review application for the registration of PEJUANG as a political party was scheduled to be heard at the Special Powers Court of Appeal Two this morning. However, the party may file an appeal to the Home Ministry to reconsider the decision.

In terms of Parti MUDA, the news was confirmed by one of its founders, Mutalib Uthman in a WhatsApp group with the media.

In a statement, MUDA informed that their party was rejected for no reason. They also expressed their disappointment as MUDA has given full cooperation and have obeyed all requirements for registration.

“This is the evil effort of the Perikatan Nasional government to prevent MUDA, as well as its supporters, from participating in the upcoming General Election.”

Parti MUDA also added that their rejection comes a day after Pasir Salak Parliament member, Dato Seri Tajuddin Rahman’s, family scandal was exposed regarding the LRT Dang Wangi project.

Is there foul play involved in the rejection of these two parties? Let us know what you think!
