Malaysiakini reported that a man was seen running naked in front of Daya Bumi building just around Pasar Seni, Kuala Lumpur. The police had to send a patrol car and motorcycle to the scene.

But, instead of charging the man with “public indecency”, the police took the higher road, especially because the man was not in his right mind. Dang Wangi district police chief Mohd Fahmi Visunathan Abdullah was quoted as saying,

“The patrol personnel managed to convince the man to enter the patrol car without any aggression on his part. The man did not have mental problems but said he was facing depression and could not control his emotions due to personal problems, and therefore had drunk excessive alcohol to an extent that he was unaware he was naked in public.”

“As the man was without clothes, police bought him clothes from a bundle shop and gave him some pocket money as fare to return to his home in the Brickfields area.”

FYI, the incident happened on 10th October 2019 at 3.27 pm, and the naked man was spotted a traffic police officer.

We hope the man goes back to his family and gets the treatment he needs for depression. On that note, if you think you’re having a tough time coping with life, talk to someone you trust or just hit up Befrienders KL at 03-7956 8145 for professional help.
