To book a baby, you have to transfer a fixed amount and reserve your purchase.

Recently, a Thai Facebook page has been under fire by netizens for claiming to help unwanted mothers by selling their babies. Another social media page, known as V.10, called out this act of inhumanity by posting screenshots of the page and the immoral way they were marketing babies like animals.

The photos of the babies were captioned with:

“What is this? I can understand if mothers aren’t ready and want to stop their pregnancy. But if you’re pregnant and announcing to find someone to sponsor the child?”

The Facebook post goes on to specify the process that this page adheres to in order to promote baby-selling. Apparently, in order to “book” your baby, you even have to reserve it in advance!

“There’s a fund transfer and reserve process before you buy the babies. It’s like they’re selling puppies or kittens.”

The outraged admin says this is a clear act of human trafficking. To actually sponsor a child is a complicated process and there are many legal requirements that need to be done to ensure the child is safely protected and cared for.

The post has since gone viral with over 10k likes and 11k shares. Netizens are bewildered and appalled that society has come to this.

When a disappointed Facebook user asked how much one baby was going for, the admin replied “15k” baht (RM2,041).

This is just sad. There isn’t a price that you can put on the worth of someone’s life!

While putting unwanted pregnancies up for adoption can be justified, selling a baby like this definitely isn’t. There are adoption agencies and verified legal sponsorships that can provide proper legal avenues following a strict process to ensure all rights are protected, instead of selling off children like livestock.
