Just yesterday (4th July), the nation was horrified after news of police finding a missing baby’s body in his babysitter’s freezer began to surface online.

Five-month-old Adam Rayqal reportedly went missing after his babysitter claimed that someone whom she thought was his father arrived to pick him up. The baby’s actual father, Mohd Sufi Naeif, who did not pick him up from the sitter, was shocked upon finding out about this and immediately lodged a police report in efforts to find his son.

However, during investigations, the police found inconsistencies in the babysitter’s statement and searched her home. They eventually found Adam Rayqal’s body wrapped in a napkin inside a green bag that was stuffed inside her freezer.

The parents were devastated upon discovering the fate of their son, and were in tears when they arrived at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) Forensics Unit where Adam was undergoing a post-mortem.

Soon after collecting their son’s body, the grieving parents made their way to Terengganu to lay him to rest.

In light of this tragedy, a number of netizens expressed their discomfort at how the media were covering the parents’ ordeal, as photos of the mother crying with her baby in her arms and even photos of the funeral began to surface online.

Many of them urged the media to give the parents privacy during this difficult time.

This is certainly a terrible ordeal for Adam Rayqal’s parents, and we hope that they can now grieve in peace during this unbelievably trying time.
