Houses in Kupang, Kedah have been set on fire since December 2024, and PDRM has finally arrested the culprit.

The 23-year-old suspect was apprehended in Kupang, Kedah at 12:30 AM on Monday (January 20), and according to the Kedah Police Chief, Datuk Fisol Salleh, the feeling of resentment due to being frequently bullied at the workplace previously led the suspect, who is currently unemployed to commit nine cases of arson.

According to the newspaper excerpt shared by Kedah Police on its Facebook page, Datuk Fisol also explained the suspect’s modus operandi.

“He would pour gasoline onto the motorcycles and set them on fire, before it spread to the houses of the residents.”

The fire destroyed nine houses, including two vehicles and 18 motorcycles, resulting in a loss of RM770,000.
