You know you’ve made it big when designer labels use your song for their fashion shows!
That’s right, our very own Malaysian singer, Yuna has had one of her songs played during New York Fashion Week for Oscar de la Renta’s grand finale. *cue the applause*
During the grand finale, the songstress’ 2012 hit “Lullabies” was played in the background whilst model Bella Hadid walked the runway donning a magnificent Oscar de la Renta strapless black gown. This dress is giving me Morticia Addams vibes!
FYI, Oscar de la Renta is a famous name in the fashion industry. Hollywood celebrities like Taylor Swift and Rihanna have famously worn dresses by the luxury label for red carpet events.
Yuna excitedly posted the iconic moment on her Instagram and at the time of writing, Yuna’s post has garnered over 80,000 views and more than 100 comments. Wow, that’s a lot!
You can check out the post here:
If you didn’t know, “Lullabies” is a song from Yuna’s self-titled album which was written by herself and produced by Chris Braide, who is a Grammy-nominated British music producer. He has also worked with artists like Selena Gomez and Lana Del Ray.
On the other hand, Bella Hadid shared another video on her IG where she was seen practising her walk for the big finale whilst Yuna’s “Lullabies” was playing in the background. You can watch her practising her strut on the runway here:
Well, getting your song played on a prestigious runway is certainly something to be proud of and we hope that this wouldn’t be the last time Yuna’s songs get played in an international arena like the New York Fashion Week. Hopefully, we will get to see more of her songs being played.
In case you’ve hadn’t listened to her song “Lullabies”, you can do so here:
On that note, we congratulate Yuna for getting her song featured during Oscar de la Renta’s grand finale – we couldn’t be more proud! <3
