Earlier, the body of an infant was found in a toilet bowl at a petrol station in Sungai Haji Dorani on March 23.

After the discovery, PDRM reviewed CCTV footage from the station, which showed a pregnant woman, accompanied by another woman, entering the restroom.

She didn’t know that she was pregnant at the time

According to the case details, Nur Alieya Danisha Muhd. Alif Subramaniam didn’t know she was pregnant but felt abdominal pain similar to menstrual cramps on the day of the incident.

When she went to the petrol station toilet, she suddenly found that her baby, weighing 3.6 kg, had been expelled and fallen into the toilet hole.

In a panic, she cleaned herself up and left the toilet, confirming that no one was involved since it all happened unexpectedly.

She later revealed that she had been raped by a man she had just met but didn’t report the crime out of fear.

She was sentenced to 1 month in prison

The 18-year-old shop assistant was sentenced to a month in prison and fined RM5,000 after she admitted to hiding her baby’s birth and dumping the baby’s body in a toilet.

If she doesn’t pay the fine, she’ll face an additional 5 months in prison, though she has already paid it.

Magistrate Siti Hajar Ali said the sentence was fair, taking into account the accused’s age and other factors.

“This is her first offence, and she has shown remorse. However, the court believes that public interest should come first, without overlooking the personal interests of the young accused,” Siti Hajar added.

The prison sentence was set to begin today (April 10).
