In general, it is difficult to witness violence and aggression being inflicted on someone, much less when the witness is a child and the person being attacked is a loved one.

Unfortunately, it seems like this is what happened to a boy when a woman believed to be his mother was found on the ground next to him with a slit throat.

It is believed that the young boy who stood there motionless with blood all over him witnessed the incident that harmed the woman.

According to Oriental Daily, the 5-year-old was the deceased’s son. However, no other sources have corroborated this yet.

Found by a garden owner

In a report by Sin Chew Daily, the 35-year-old woman was allegedly still alive when a garden owner passed by and found her in the incident that occurred on October 19, 2022.

The garden owner was about to head home at around 7.30pm when he saw the boy standing next to a motorcycle.

“I thought that someone’s motorcycle had turned over and was in need of help,” he said.

However, to his shock, he found the woman lying on the road with her throat slit open.

Although she could not speak, she gestured for him to help.

Passed away before the police arrived

After his shocking discovery, the garden owner rushed to a security guard to ask for help. He waited at the security booth for the police to arrive before departing the scene.

He also informed the guard that he may be contacted if any assistance was needed.

However, he later found out that the woman had passed away, and later brought the young boy to the police station to give his statement.

According to Oriental Daily, locals recognised the woman as someone who bred cattle at the farm and was on her way home when the attack took place.

Police investigate the attack

After word of the woman’s attack got out, people speculated that the woman was either a victim of a murder by someone she knew due to a family dispute or of a robbery.

Segamat police chief Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah stated that the police are now investigating the matter.

He declined to comment further but said a public statement will be given if the culprit is found.

Our hearts go out to the little boy and the victim’s family. May she rest in peace.
