Although it is pretty common to witness an accident everyday on the roads, it’s rare to see one that is utterly dangerously and simply reckless.

In a video which has recently went viral on social media, an overturn oil tanker was spotted on the side of the road in Johor. As if this was not dangerous enough, the crash had caused the tanker to leak out the oil it was carrying all over the road and into the surrounding areas.

According to Kosmo, the tanker which was carrying palm oil had overturned on the Jalan Labis Bridge, Segamat-Johor Bahru towards Chaa at about 12:38pm yesterday (May 13).

Bekok State Assembly Member, Tan Chong said that the palm oil in the lorry’s tank had overflowed in the area of the incident until it entered the Bandar Labis area and continued into Sungai Labis through a nearby ditch.

River

“I have contacted and informed the authorities so that they take immediate cleaning action to avoid worse pollution of the river,” he said.

“All residents are advised to be careful when passing through the area where the road is slippery. Temporarily reduce fishing activities in Sungai Labis because the river water is polluted by the overflow of palm oil,” he added.

We hope that the authorities manage to handle the situation and finish cleaning up the mess as quickly as possible.
