Before this, applicants only had six months to apply for this little ‘gift’ from the Selangor government, but the deadline has since been extended from the year 2017. It’s actually really simple to apply, all you need is your MyKad, your marriage certificate (from the National Registration Department or State Islamic Religious Department), and your residence verification form (for those who are not born in Selangor).

If your application is approved, you will be given a Sijil Simpanan Premium worth RM500 from Bank Simpanan Nasional which can be sold back to the bank for cash within 45 days if you prefer. If not, you can just keep it! This programme is available for all ethnicities and religions.
