This is outrageous behaviour for someone who is supposed to be a law enforcement officer! A senior police officer was recently caught stealing more than 500 live bullets that belonged to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and actually trying to sell them.

According to Berita Harian, the Gambling, Vice and Secret Societies Department (D7) of Selangor Contingent Police headquarters and their colleagues at the Criminal Investigation Division in Serdang Police headquarters worked together to track down the rogue policeman. They caught the suspect, who is in his 30s, while he was driving in Puchong at 10.30pm.

They stopped the vehicle and after searching the suspect’s car, they discovered that he had a barrel of bullets in his backseat. When they counted the amount of bullets in his car, it was discovered that just the barrel alone had 11 boxes with each box containing 50 live bullets. Another box of 19 bullets were found in his car as well. That’s 569 bullets!

The police said that further investigations showed that the rogue police officer was selling the bullets to customers. However, they are still trying to determine the identity of these customers and had brought the suspect to the Selangor police station to continue their investigations.

Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismadi Borhan confirmed the incident and said that the case would be investigated under Section 8A of the Arms Act 1960.

Thankfully the police managed to catch their errant colleague before this batch of bullets could be sold!
