RXZ Members representatives have suggested that the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) temporarily close the East Coast Expressway (LPT) to give riders a safer route to the RXZ Members gathering.

In a video shared on the official RXZ Members page yesterday, representatives from the group were seen visiting the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Putrajaya, where JPJ Senior Director of Enforcement Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan was also present.

RXZ members suggest temporary LPT closure for riders

In the video, the representative explained that one of the suggestions discussed during the visit was to introduce a Travel Time Arrival (TTA), which would involve setting a specific travel schedule for riders.

“One of the suggestions is for us to introduce a Travel Time Arrival (TTA), meaning we will have a travel schedule for riders and set up a specific journey schedule for them.

“Among the key takeaways from this engagement session is that RXZ Members will continue until 10.0, while engagement sessions will also continue to be held to improve future editions of the programme,” the representative said.

Additionally, the group also requested that LLM consider temporarily closing the East Coast Expressway (LPT) to allow riders to pass through safely.

“However, this is one of the improvements we are looking at for future editions, and we will try to make it happen. We will continue engaging with the relevant local authorities and look forward to the next engagement session,” he added.

Muhammad Kifli also shared his thoughts later in the video, stressing that JPJ is not trying to restrict or put a halt to the programme.

“JPJ is not trying to restrict or stop the programme. Rather, we want to make improvements so that the programme can be carried out more safely, as the safety of all road users remains our priority.”

JPJ proposes stricter registration process for RXZ Members

On a separate note, JPJ Director General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the department had proposed a more comprehensive registration process, requiring participants to provide details such as their driving licence and Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM).

Previously, the RXZ Members registration system mainly focused on administrative matters, such as distributing merchandise and T-shirts, as well as taking part in lucky draws, as reported by BERNAMA.

He explained that the move would help ensure organisers can also be held accountable for participants at future programmes.

Aedy added that the organisers did not object to the proposal and had agreed to implement it, while also taking several steps to ensure participants follow road laws and regulations.
