Police to Investigate Brutal Murder of 3 Cats at Student Quarters of Private University in Setapak

Recently, a TikTok post of photographs of the carcasses of 3 cats went viral, with netizens calling for the authorities to take strict action against the sick individual who had murdered the poor kitties.

Following the widespread public outrage, the police have reported that they will be investigating the brutal killing of the three cats in Setapak.

According to reports, Wangsa Maju police chief Mohamad Lazim Ismail said the carcasses of the cats were discovered on the steps of a student quarters of a private university at Jalan Genting Klang in Setapak.

“The cats were found with their heads bloodied. We believe the incident occurred on November 17. A student informed a security guard of the carcasses found, and a police report was lodged” he said in a statement.

He added that the police had opened investigations under Section 428 of the Penal Code.

The TikTok post by user Nanisnanaa revealed that the cats had stab wounds on their heads and were left to die at a university campus grounds in Setapak.

This led to netizens calling for immediate action to be taken while also tagging the Department of Veterinary Services.

Meanwhile, according to reports in Sin Chew Daily, several students were aware of the incidents and had called on the university management to investigate.

The report said the cats were found in the courtyard on the third floor of a building block, and that students believed that someone had killed the cats in another location and discarded them in the courtyard.

It further stated that several students tried to retrieve CCTV footage, but the cameras only covered the first floor.
