The police have arrested an individual suspected of being involved in an explosion caused by the use of a homemade explosive device or Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Desa Palma area, Nilai, on 22 December.
Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, said the 62-year-old man was detained in the Mantin area on Saturday afternoon.

“Yes, the man has been arrested and sent to the hospital due to injuries. A statement will be issued soon regarding the arrest,” he told BERNAMA.
Suspect believed to have specific skills and knowledge
Yesterday, Alzafny said the suspect involved in the incident is believed to have technical knowledge and specific skills in making explosives, based on the discovery of devices and equipment seized from the manâs rented house.
Police also found 31 more IEDs at his home, all of which have been destroyed.
Earlier on Monday, Alzafny reported that police discovered an object suspected to be an IED following the explosion in Desa Palma, after receiving a public report about an object exploding and nails scattered in the area at 7:08 AM.

A manhunt was then launched after the police had recorded the statements of 14 witnesses and obtained CCTV footage in the surrounding area.
