PM Muhyiddin Congratulates Joe Biden on Win & Hopes To Strengthen Ties Between Both Countries

On 8 November 2020, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin released an official statement to congratulate former vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, on winning the 2020 US presidential elections.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Democratical presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden on his historic victory in the 2020 US presidential election,” he wrote.

Muhyiddin stated that Malaysia looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the United States under Joe Biden’s leadership to address global challenges, including the disastrous impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also mentioned the US-Malaysia Comprehensive Partnership will continue to be an all-embracing framework for pro-active, multi-facet, and mutually beneficial collaboration between Malaysia and the United States.

“I wish President-elect Joe Biden great success in his presidency, and look forward to meeting him when an opportunity arises,” he added.

After a seemingly interminable journey, Joe Biden has won the 2020 United States election. He also broke Barack Obama’s record for the most votes ever cast for a US presidential candidate.
