“Bringing those who are far closer, and drawing closer those who are already near,” he wrote in a brief caption accompanying the teaser.

According to him, the lyrics of the song were co‑written with Zawfan and Mirwana, and the composition features nostalgic musical elements such as kompang and drum accompaniment, reflecting traditional influences.

Brings back memories

Dr Zulkifli also took the opportunity to reminisce about his earlier involvement in nasyid, recalling his active participation in religious music during his youth.

“It brings back memories of my time as a ‘tekong’ in the nasyid group at Madrasah Idrisiah Kuala Kangsar back then,” he said.

The teaser has since garnered positive reactions from social media users, many of whom welcomed the minister’s artistic effort to convey messages of peace and mutual understanding through music.
