Recently, a video of a motorcyclist in Kota Tinggi, Johor evading a Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) patrol car and ignoring the police’s instruction to stop has gone viral on social media.
In the 30-second dashcam footage, the man, riding without a helmet refused to stop and casually continued riding past the patrol car.
The Kota Tinggi District Police has since released a statement regarding the incident, saying that it happened at Jalan Felda Air Tawar 5 – Felda Semenchu in the Johor district at around 11.30am on Wednesday (10 May).
According to the Kota Tinggi District Police Chief Superintendent Hussin Zamora, police officers instructed the man to stop by the roadside for an inspection but the man didn’t collaborate.
The policemen followed the motorcycle until it entered a palm oil plantation in Felda Semenchu. PDRM then successfully tracked the man’s residence but found it was vacant with the doors locked.
An initial investigation found that the man is a local resident aged around 46 years old with a record of mental illness.
