Perak Tengah police chief, Superintendent Hafezul Helmi Hamzah, said they’re looking into the case under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape. If convicted, it could mean 20 years behind bars.

“The cops are waiting on a medical report from the hospital. The first check by the hospital didn’t find any obvious injuries on the victim,” he quoted.

According to Harian Metro, they figured out who the suspect was by tracking the phone number on the student’s phone, and the police seized both the student’s and the suspect’s phones.

However, no arrests were made that night, and the investigation is still ongoing.
