A technician had to cancel his wish to have fun while climbing at the Janda Mandi Waterfall in Bukit Kijal, on Thursday (28 Oct) after seeing a lot of rubbish dumped in the area.
Muhamad Hafizi Tajudin, 27, said he and his friend, Nuralia Faziera Mohamad, 27, decided to collect and bring down the piles of rubbish left along the climbing route to the rubbish dump. He also shared a video of his effort to clean the area on his TikTok which has garnered a lot of attention. As reported by Sinar, Hafizi said,
“First, I picked up one water bottle that was thrown there but then I found a pile of rubbish in the black plastic that has been left there for weeks. I immediately cancelled my intention to hike and instead tried to collect the rubbish left there to put in the bin at the entrance of the area.”
Hafizi said, although he was a little tired because he had to carry a load of 10 kilograms, he was satisfied to be able to clean the area. It took him about 40 minutes to bring down all the rubbish because the 1-kilometre path was steep.

@hafizitajudin Alam yang Allah dah cipta tu memang indah. Tapi boleh jadi rosak akibat tangan manusia sendiri. Jadi manusia yang bertanggungjawab! #PokJie #hiking
He mentioned that if the rubbish is not disposed of properly, it will ruin the area and also the nearby environment. Kudos to Hafizi for having such a good heart and to those who are planning to go for a hike, please be a responsible person and throw your rubbish properly. Don’t be selfish because we need to take care of our environment together.
