It’s extremely important to make sure everything is up to par before selecting a place to stay, from the safety aspect to the cleanliness.

Water leakage issues happen occasionally, but if handled well, it shouldn’t have serious consequences. However, an owner of a condo unit in Johor Bahru shared how serious (and disgusting) it can be if we take leakage issues lightly.

Mushrooms grow in the house!

Despite being a million-ringgit apartment unit, the owner has dubbed the place “terrible” due to the poor construction work. Only after she had purchased the unit that she realise, the entire unit “reeked” with water leakage problems, according to Sin Chew Daily.

The problems are so bad that various mushroom-like fungi were growing in the corners of the wall in the unit!

Many parts of the walls are severely damp and mouldy due to the moisture, and some of them have even started to “peel off”. The owner was shocked and disgusted to find “mushrooms” growing in her unit, which is on the 33rd floor of the building.

She also criticised the management of the building for not taking the issues seriously, which may affect the safety of the residents.

Imagine spending a fortune on a house only to be greeted with more issues you may need to fix. What would you do in such a “mouldy” situation?
