M’sian Guards Carrying RM200k in Company Cash Tell PDRM They Were Robbed, Get Detained Instead

In recent news, 3 men recently filed a police report after claiming that a sack of money belonging to a security company in Alor Setar, Kedah was robbed when they were driving.

Kota Setar Police shared a statement on Facebook, revealing how the 3 men who work as security guards explained how the company’s van they were driving had allegedly been robbed and a sack containing RM200,000 worth of cash was stolen.

The police didn’t buy their story

The statement revealed that police were suspicious of the initial explanations given by the security guards, which were later found to be mere fabrications.

Following this, the security company filed a police report for further action. All suspects who are local citizens aged 28 to 38, were detained by the police to assist in the investigation.

The suspects have been remanded

The 3 men have been remanded for 3 days, starting November 20, to aid in investigating a breach of trust involving the company’s money.

The police have concluded the case and will refer the investigation to the Deputy Prosecutor soon for potential charges.

The case is being investigated under Section 408 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for no less than one year and up to 14 years, along with whipping, and possibly a fine upon conviction.
