Malaysian cross-dresser Deacon Chai recently went viral for ‘laughing’ at Pak Lah’s death by leaving an insensitive comment.
Despite his apology and explanation, many Malaysians continue to slam him for the remark, with some suggesting to revoke his citizenship.
In a video update last night (April 19), Deacon, who goes by the name Xiao Honey, said after taking a short break, he has learnt a lot of lessons, particularly about human connections.

According to him, the crisis had revealed to him true friends and those who left when things did not go smoothly for him.
Deacon, who was on a plane, said that he realised that when the situations were smooth, he was always surrounded by the people. Now that he is struggling with the comment that sealed his fate, Deacon said he learnt his lesson the hard way when it comes to relationships and friendships.

Deacon’s boyfriend recently “broke up” with him, announcing that their relationship was merely “a working relationship”. Deacon, however, did not respond to the “breakup” and said friendship betrayal has hurt him the most during this crisis.
In the video, Deacon also said that the tough time has “motivated” him to write a song.
What do you think of his apology, in which he deemed the matter was merely a big misunderstanding?
