Female Co-Pilot Left Seriously Injured After Being Stabbed by Uni Student in Selangor Apartment

A 34-year-old woman was seriously injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon at her rented apartment unit in Bandar Sunsuria on Friday (April 10).

Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman said police received a report of the incident and arrested a 22-year-old male suspect on the same day. The suspect is believed to be a student at a private university.

The victim and the suspect were not related

Initial investigations found that the victim, who is a co-pilot, and the suspect were not related.

“The victim is currently in critical but stable condition and is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah in Serdang,” Norhizam said in a statement on Sunday (12 April).

He added that the case remains under investigation, with statements recorded from 10 witnesses so far, according to reports by Sinar Harian and China Press.

Norhizam also confirmed that the suspect tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record. The suspect has been remanded for seven days, until 16 April, to assist in investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a weapon.

Members of the public with information related to the incident are urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Muhammad Azroy Amran, at 014-272 3342, or contact the Sepang District Police Headquarters or any nearby police station.

 

Police have also advised the public not to spread unverified information or engage in speculation that could interfere with the investigation or cause unnecessary public concern.
